Driver Guided Tour of the Lake District
Head out with me as your private Driver Guide for 1 -4 people. With my top of the range Volvo XC40 SUV we can access all areas in comfort with good legroom, elevated views and a panormaic roof. With my extensive knowledge I can reveal the secret soul of the Lake District. You can hire me for half a day, one day or for multiple days. if you need a pick up or drop off from the airport I can also provide that service.

All Creatures Great and Small Tour
My passion for James Herriot's All Creatures Great and Small series has led me to develop a one day tour that can be taken from the Lake District and return you to your hotel or drop off in Yorkshire.
I will drive you to many of the filming locations for the TV series. We will visit Darrowby, home of Skeldale House, the church where Helen and James got married and see the Alderson's farm, Heston Grange in it's beautiful Yorkshire Dale setting. We will also see the point where James is dropped off from the bus is Episode 1 and drop by the home of Tricki-Woo and Mrs Pumphrey. There will also be an opportunity for lunch at one of the pubs used as the Drovers Arms. A grand day out!
This is a full day out and suggests an early start and drop off early evening, in order to make the most of your day

Cartmel Village
Walking Tour
Cartmel, one of the prettiest and iconic villages in Cumbria. Home to over 800 years of history with a majestic Cartmel Priory, numerous interesting buildings and a very tasty food and drink heritage. The tour of the Priory and Village lasts for about 2.5 hours and gets you deep inside the stories of Cartmel and its Priory.

Fabulous Furness
Tour
This is a full day tour of the top sites on the Furness Peninsula.
Starting with a really inspiring, entertaining and insightful tour of Furness Abbey, one of the gems of South Lakeland. Discover the amazing 900 year history, uncover the hidden stories and see how the Abbey became an inspiration for artists and poets that will also inspire you.
Then our journey continues to Piel Island* by ferry to a remarkable place with its own King and even more stories of rebellion and intrigue.
We can then continue for a fascinating tour of Barrow-in-Furness and you can learn all about its history right up to the current day with the AUKUS** contract bringing fortunes back to the town.
Cost:
Full day tour £360 for a group of 1-20 people. Excludes entry to Furness Abbey and ferry crossing (~£15 per person)

Levens Hall
Tour
This is a half day tour of the privately owned Levens Hall
You will get to visit the oldest topiary garden in the world, origininating from 1694
As if that wasn't enough, we get to go inside the Elizabethan Hall built in the 1580s
You will get to hear about the amazing stories of how the house developed, the families, discover why Napoleon and Wellington feature and there is also amazing artwork to see.
Cost: £240 + Hall entry fee, currently £15.50 per head
If you use me as your Driver guide then the cost is £520 and I can comfortably take up to three adults, tour includes entry fee.

North Pennines and Hadrian's Wall Tour
The less visited areas of the Cumbrian North Pennines lends itself to a full day tour. Heading up to Alston, England's Highest Market town, we stop at the spectacular viewpoint of Hartside Pass, take in a walking tour of Alston. Then head North taking in top spots along Hadrian's Wall, stopping off at the incredible Lanercost Priory with optional stops in Brampton to visit some exceptional Stained Glass.

Coach Tours
If you are part of a group and would like a minibus or coach tour of the Lake District then this is an ideal way to get an entertaining and informative commentary as the coach progresses through the amazing scenery.
We will stop off at various spots as well as lunch stops
Once I know what you would like to see, then I will arrange a route for you.
Depending on the size of your coach, I can set a route accordingly.

Grange over-Sands
Walking Tour
Grange over-Sands, the elegant Victorian and Edwardian town overlooking Morecambe Bay. On this short 1 hour walking tour you will get to hear about how the town came to be here, get some fantastic views over Morecambe Bay and learn about the history of the Bay and current challenges and projects. There will also be a chance to try some special produce.

The Lake District and Cumbria is rightly very popular for weddings. We know that many of your guests are travelling to the Lake District for the first time, often from abroad.
Why not give your wedding party an experience to remember with a half or full day guided tour by coach or minibus and enable them to see this amazing place.
We will arrange coach hire and pick up from your chosen venue and your Blue Badge Guide will provide commentary to make the tour entertaining and insightful.
Your tour will be bespoke according to your guests interests and background, and we will plan that for you, accommodating any specific requests.
The tour can also include stops to allow for photos and those instagram moments.
